Laterallus flaviventer — "Rallidae" fəsiləsinin "Rallinae" yarımfəsiləsinə aid olan quş növü. Bu növ bir neçə Karib adasında, Mərkəzi Amerika və Cənubi Amerikanın böyük bir hissəsində tapılır.[3][4]

Laterallus flaviventer ilk dəfə 1781-ci ildə fransız alim Jorj-Lui Lekler de Büffon tərəfindən "Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux" əsərində təsvir edilmişdir.[5] Quş, həmçinin Buffonun mətninə müşayiət etmək üçün Edme-Lui Daubentonun rəhbərliyi altında hazırlanan "Planches Enluminées D'Histoire Naturelle" əsərində Fransua-Nikola Martinet tərəfindən əllə rənglənmiş bir lövhədə təsvir edilmişdir.[6]
