Pertaining to the magnified diagram of the alveoli: The pulmonary vein and pulmonary artery are incorrectly labeled in the above image. It is crucial to know that the pulmonary vein in this circulation should be RED because it is oxygenated before going back to the heart for vascular supply. The pulmonary artery should be BLUE because the heart needs to pump the deoxygenated blood received from the body to the lungs for oxygenation. Outside of this pulmonary circulation, veins are blue and arteries are red.
