English: This photograph of the Compiègne Wagon was taken in the forest of Compiègne after reaching an agreement for the armistice that ended World War I. This railcar was given to Ferdinand Foch for military use by the manufacturer, Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits. Foch is second from the right. Lower row, left to right: Admiral George Hope, General Maxime Weygand, Admiral Rosslyn Wemyss, General Ferdinand Foch, Captain Jack Marriott. Middle row: General Pierre Desticker (left), Captain de Mierry (right). Top row: Commandant Riedinger (left), Officer-Interpreter Laperche (right).
Français : Cette photographie est prise dans la forêt de Compiègne, au pied du wagon-salon du train de Foch où vient d'être signé l'armistice. Ce wagon fut réquisitionné auprès de la Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits afin d'être affecté au train de l'état-major. Le maréchal Foch est au premier plan, second sur la droite, accompagné par les deux amiraux britanniques Hope et Rosslyn Wemyss.

Deutsch: Das Foto entstand im Wald von Compiègne nach der Unterzeichnung des Waffenstillstands, der den ersten Weltkrieg beendete. Der Waggon wurde bei der Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits zum Einsatz für den Generalstab beschlagnahmt. Marschall Ferdinand Foch befindet sich in der ersten Reihe als zweiter von rechts, umgeben von zwei britischen Admirälen Hope und Rosslyn Wemyss.
