English: Drawing of a scarab of the hyksos ruler Semqen:

"Heqa-Khasut Semqen" - "Lord of foreign lands (Hyksos), Semqen".

Brown steatite from Tell el-Yahudiyeh. Reign of Semqen, 16th dynasty, Second Intermediate Period. This scarabs is the only attestation for this ruler, and was part of the Fraser collection [ref: Fraser, G.W. (1900), A catalogue of scarabs belonging to George Fraser, n. 179], while it is currently in a private collection [ref:Tufnell, Olga (1984), Studies on Scarab Seals Vol. 2, Aris & Phillips, see seal num. 3463 and pl. LXII, p. 382.]
