  • The attire and clothing of individuals involved in the radical Paris Commune (French: Commune de Paris), the government of Paris from 1789 until 1795 during the French revolution; French revolutionary sans-culottes wearing iconic Phrygian caps (bonnets rouges) and tricolor cockades. The sans-culotte (left) is wearing full length trousers, the others wearing culottes (right, knee length breeches).
  • Book plate from Zur Geschichte der Kostüme ("On the History of Costume"), a German publication from Munich, Germany, originally released as a series of prints (Münchener Bilderbogen) starting in 1861 and later compiled into a book around 1900. The contributing illustrators for the costume plates included Louis Braun, W. Diez, Ernst Fröhlich, j. Gehrts, C. Häberlin, M. Heil, Andr. Müller, F. Rothbarth, and others.
