Epiz fentezi və ya yüksək fentezi — fentezinin quruluşunun epik təbiəti və ya personajlarının, mövzularının və ya süjetinin epik boyu ilə xarakterizə olunan altjanrı. "Yüksək fentezi" termini 1971-ci ildə yazdığı "Yüksək fentezi və qəhrəman romantikası" adlı essesində ortaya çıxmışdır.

Epik fentezi adətən mövzuları və verdiyi mesajları ilə müəyyən edilir. epik fentezidə ortaq amildir və şərin xarakterini müəyyən etmək çox vaxt epik fentezi əsərində vacib mövzudur. Xeyir və şər məfhumunun əhəmiyyəti epik fentezi ilə arasında fərqləndirici əlamət kimi qəbul edilir.
