Əvasim (ərəb. العواصم, hərf. "müdafiələr, istehkamlar"; təkdə Asimə, اَلْـعَـاصِـمَـة, hərf. "müdafiəçi") — Kilikiya, Suriyanın şimalı və Yuxarı Mesopotamiyada Bizans imperiyası ilə Əməvi və Abbasi xilafətləri arasındakı sərhəd zonasının müsəlman tərəfinə istinad etmək üçün istifadə olunan ərəbcə termin. Bu, VIII əsrin əvvəllərində, ilk dalğası azaldıqdan sonra qurulmuş və Bizans irəliləyişləri tərəfindən əzilən X əsrin ortalarına qədər davam etmişdir. Bu, suğur (اَلـثُّـغُـوْر; təkdə səqr, اَلـثَّـغْـر, hərf.
