Genocide is a clearly defined legal term. It denotes an intentional destruction of a national, ethnic or religious group in whole or in part. It was coined as a reaction to the Nazi atrocities against Jews after World War II. The United Nations formally criminalized the act of genocide with the 1948 Genocide Convention. According to this treaty, the crime of genocide can only be determined by an international court or a local court where the events took place. The Armenian massacres occurred in Turkey. Therefore, only ICJ and Turkish courts have the authority to determine whether those incidents meet the legal definition of genocide.

The following entities do not have the authority to determine genocide: Presidents, parliaments, historians, sociologists, think-tanks and non-governmental organizations, including Wikipedia. This is validated by the European Court of Justice in its verdict on Perinçek v. Switzerland. In its ruling, the ECHR also stated that it was not convinced by the arguments that there is a "general consensus" for the Armenian genocide.

The truth is the Armenian "genocide" allegation about the events of 1915 is an atrocity propaganda. Ottoman Empire did not commit genocide, it defended its land against Armenian revolutionaries supported by Great Britain, Russia, France. The atrocities and massacres committed by the Armenian revolutionaries are widely documented in the Ottoman, Russian, British, American, German and French archives.

You cannot deny evidence presented by Turkish historians and Western historians who support Turkish claims. You have no right to change the article name as you desire contrary to the consensus of the community. By endorsing the "genocide" lie, you are violating the neutrality policy and spreading the World War I propaganda of the imperialist powers.

The armenian genocide is an imperialist lie. We did not commit genocide.

Hello @Turkmen, I've asked MJL to follow the community consensus when editing contentious topics. They remove the book about the Armenian relocation written by Kamuran Gürün and also the verdict of the European Court of Human Rights from the article. I think MJL's actions are disruptive to the project. Earlier, many users expressed their frustration toward their behavior on the corresponding talk page.
