English: The Royal Exchange in New York City, also called the Old Royal Exchange and the Merchants Exchange, at the foot of Broad Street near Water Street, was a covered marketplace that served as the meeting place for the Chamber of Commerce of the State of New York, 1770-1780s; the New York State Legislature starting in 1785; the federal court of the District of New York (Southern District of New York), 1789-1790; and the United States Supreme Court, February 2-10, 1790. The building was demolished in 1799.
