Čeština: Secese je mezinárodní umělecký sloh z přelomu 19. a 20. století. Český název „secese“ (něm. Sezession, z latinského secessio odštěpení) pochází od uměleckých spolků, které se v Berlíně (1891), v Mnichově (1892) a zejména ve Vídni (Wiener Sezession, 1896) oddělily od konservativních akademií.

English: Art Nouveau (French for "New art") or Secession is an art and design style that peaked in popularity at the turn of the 20th century. The Central-European term Secession came from artistic associations in Berlin, Munich and Vienna which split off from the conservative associations in 1890s.
