Uilyam Foli(21 aprel 1949, ABŞ) — Amerikalı dilçi və Kolumbiya Universitetinin professorudur.[1] Daha əvvəl Sidney Universitetində çalışmışdır. O, Papua və Avstroneziya dilləri üzrə ixtisaslaşmışdır. Foley, Robert Van Valin ilə birlikdə Rol və Referens Qrammatikasını inkişaf etdirmişdir.

1986-cı ildə Foley "The Papuan Languages of New Guinea" adlı kitabını Cambridge University Press vasitəsilə nəşr etdirmişdir. 1991-ci ildə onun "The Yimas Language of New Guinea" adlı kitabı Stanford University Press tərəfindən çap olunmuşdur. 1997-ci ildə isə "Anthropological Linguistics" adlı kitabı, "antropoloji dilçilik üzrə ilk hərtərəfli dərslik" olaraq, Noam Çomskinin giriş sözü ilə nəşr edilmişdir.[2]
