re indebted to theProvince pay the sums due from them respectively into the hands ofHenry Gardner, Esq., of Stowe, agreeable to the directions of theProvincial Congress, and the town engage to indemnify them in case anyloss or damage arise to them thereby. After these important proceedings, this meeting was adjournedto December 10; when it was adjourned to December 22, andagain to Thursday, December 29. The committees havingnothing to offer, the meeting was further adjourned to the firstMonday in February. Another town-meeting was held on the 29thwhen the Address of the Provincial Congress was read and orderedto be recorded, and Nathaniel Gorham and Richard Devens werechosen delegates to the Provincial Congress in February. TheJuly meeting was held by adjournment, on Feb. 6, and adjournedto the first Monday in March. Only one more town-meeting washeld before the destruction of the town, which was on March 21,when David Cheever was chosen another delegate to the Provin-cial Congress. \
