English: Miss Emily Landry, Bearded & Hairy Girl of Louisiana. Born in Terrebonne Parish in 1873. Died in Detroit, MI, aged 13 of diphtheria on April 20, 1887. From a photograph taken shortly before her death. A relative of Landry told Jones that Emily had menstruated at age 3 and when her mother was pregnant she constantly looked at a painting of Christ, while the relative believed to be cause of Emily's hairiness. On her father's side many males were reported to have excessive hair growth.
Français : Mlle. Emily Landry, fille barbue et poilue de Louisiane. Née dans la paroisse de Terrebonne en 1873. Décédée à Detroit, MI, âgée de 13 ans de diphtérie le 20 avril 1887. D'après une photographie prise peu de temps avant sa mort. Un parent de Landry a dit à Jones qu'Emily avait eu ses règles à l'âge de 3 ans et que lorsque sa mère était enceinte, elle regardait constamment une peinture du Christ, tandis que le parent croyait être la cause de la pilosité d'Emily.
