I, Thomas Woodman, was given permission to use image specifically for this purpose in an e-mail conversation: "Dear Mr Woodman, Thank you for the interest in my photo of the Buffalo skyline and for asking of my permission for use in Wikipedia. You have my permission for freely using the photo for that purpose. Thank you again. Stephen Zimmermann" I originally uploaded this saying it was my own work because this was my first time uploading a photo to Wikipedia, and I've been wanting to change Buffalo's skyline photo to this one for a long time now. As soon as I was sure I was able to use the photo I immediately gave Stephen Zimmermann credit in the photo summary as were my intentions all along. This is not my work, it is his, and he has given me express permission via e-mail. Please do not replace/delete this photo, if you are, please contact me first and tell me what I did wrong(I have just become an autoconfirmed user and want to contribute in a positive way). I feel this truly captures the beauty of the city I live in. Thank you. UPDATE: The copyright holder and photographer has just released this photo under a free license. |
