Sgt. William Loughran encourages recruits from Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, to give 100 percent during physical training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., Sept. 18, 2013. Loughran joined the Corps in 2004 and became a drill instructor in 2012. “[Being a drill instructor] is the most demanding duty … yet probably the most rewarding thing I have ever done,” Loughran said.
