Deutsch: Hauptmann Christopher Stricklin katapultiert sich am 14. September 2003 aus dem sechsten Flugzeug der U.S.Air Force Thunderbirds, weniger als eine Sekunde bevor es bei einer Flugshow auf der Mountain Home Air Force Base (Idaho) auf dem Boden aufschlug. Er erlitt keine Verletzungen. Er lenkte das Flugzeug zunächst von einer mehr als 60000 Personen zählenden Zuschauermenge weg. Stricklin, who was not injured, ejected after both guiding the jet away from the crowd of more than 60,000 people and determining that he couldn't save the aircraft. According to the accident investigation board report Stricklin's error caused a Thunderbirds F-16C to crash shortly after takeoff. The aircraft, valued at about $20.4 million, was destroyed. This was the second crash since the Air Force began using F-16 Falcons for its demonstration team in 1982.
