My background is in business software development and I have masters degree in Computer Science from University of Latvia. My wiki-interests are: Latvia, information technology, photography and cycling, but also covering various content gaps. I can take decent quality photographs for illustration.

You may have met me in some of Wikimedia related conferences.

I became involved in Wikipedia by making first edit in 2005 and then there was no way out. Currently I am among top 10 contributors (by various metrics) to Latvian Wikipedia, but in recent years I am more involved in offline activities with Wikimedians of Latvia User Group, like organizing Wiki Loves Monuments, editing workshops or other exciting things with people from Wikimedia Central and Eastern Europe group.

I believe that Wikidata will have big impact on Wikipedia.
