About me
Hello! I am an editor active on Wikidata, Wikipedia, and Wikimedia Commons. I mostly edit the English and Dutch Wikipedias, where I enjoy improving and expanding articles. I began contributing during the COVID-19 lockdown, when I found comfort and purpose in improving and sharing information online. What started as a small curiosity quickly became a lasting interest in open knowledge and collaboration. Over time, my focus has also expanded to include Wiktionary, where I enjoy exploring language, etymology, and how words connect cultures and history.
I am active in the creative and cultural field, working on communication, media, and artistic projects. This background shapes my approach to editing, especially in areas involving visual documentation and storytelling. I believe that open culture and free access to information are vital for building inclusive communities and preserving knowledge for future generations.
My work
My main areas of contribution centre around Brussels and Belgium, with a particular interest in the historical, cultural, and architectural aspects of the region. I enjoy documenting local landmarks, organisations, and events, and I aim to make information clearer and more accessible to readers. I find great value in preserving local heritage and helping to represent Brussels’ diverse cultural identity within the Wikimedia projects.
Outside Wikimedia, I am also an active contributor to OpenStreetMap, where I help map and refine geographic data, particularly in Brussels. I focus on linking OpenStreetMap features to Wikidata entries and vice versa, creating connections between structured knowledge and geographic information. I also try to add names of features in Belgian minority languages such as Picard, Walloon, and West Flemish, including translations where available, to help preserve languages that are on the verge of disappearing. I see both projects as complementary: Wikimedia preserves collective knowledge, while OpenStreetMap visualises the spaces that connect us. Together, they tell a richer story about the world we live in.
If you come across one of my edits, feel free to reach out or collaborate. I always enjoy learning from others and exchanging ideas within the Wikimedia community.
