Onun bir çox nəşrləri erməni soyqırımından bəhs edir.[4] 2016-cı ildə Klark Universitetində erməni soyqırımı üzrə fəlsəfə doktoru dərəcəsi almışdır.[5] Qurd etnik olaraq kürd və ərəb mənşəlidir. O, Qaziantepdə doğulub boya-başa çatmışdır.[6][7]
