Red Horde?

I know the Ulus Juci only as a 'Golden Horde'. This is consistent with designations in the other Turkic languages.

This 'Empire of the Golden Horde' broke up into three local Dominions:

The Blue Horde (Batu ulus)
the Orda Horde (Orda ulus) and
the White Horde (Hizr ulus)

Old color assignments of the Turkish-Mongolian steppe peoples symbolizes the color black (Kara) the north, the color white (Ak) the west, the color blue (Kok) the east and the color red (Kizil) the south of a steppe empire.

The territory of the Golden Horde is not even in the South, but it is located in the west of the Turkish-Mongolian Empire. My question is: Why 'Red Horde' for the Golden Horde? -- () 00:14, 12 iyul 2013 (UTC)
